
HSE Elements Internship & Graduate Development Program
Program Overview
At HSE Elements, we believe the next generation of safety professionals should gain real-world experience early in their careers.
Our Internship & Graduate Development Program is designed for students and recent graduates who want to build a career in Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental.
Participants work alongside experienced HSE Advisors, consultants, and trainers, gaining hands-on experience supporting real projects across construction, infrastructure, transportation, and corporate sectors.
Unlike traditional internships, our program provides exposure to both:
• Field safety operations
• Professional consulting work
This allows participants to develop practical skills that prepare them for long-term careers in the HSE industry.
Internship Program (Students)
The Internship Program is designed for students currently enrolled in college or university programs related to health and safety or similar disciplines.
Typical internship duration
• 3 – 12 months
• Part-time during school or full-time during summer
Typical responsibilities
• Assisting with workplace inspections
• Supporting safety documentation and procedures
• Participating in hazard assessments
• Supporting HSE training preparation
• Assisting with audits and compliance reviews
• Supporting consulting projects
Graduate Development Program
The Graduate Program is designed for individuals who have recently completed their diploma or degree and are seeking to begin a professional career in health and safety.
Participants gain exposure to:
• Field HSE advisory services
• HSE management systems
• Risk assessments and hazard analysis
• HSE training delivery
• Client consulting projects
Typical duration
12 – 24 months
High-performing participants may be considered for full-time HSE Coordinator roles with HSE Elements.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Demonstrate interest in occupational health and safety
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills
• Be willing to travel to project sites when required
No experience is required.

Mentorship & Development
Participants will be assigned a Senior HSE Advisor mentor who will provide:
• Professional coaching
• Field guidance
• Career development support
• Monthly progress reviews
Career Opportunities
Outstanding participants may be considered for roles such as:
• HSE Advisor
• HSE Coordinator
• HSE Trainer
• HSE Consultant
